The newly developed viscoplastic mechanical model based upon the viscoplastic model of the Chaboche type is proposed. The points of proposition are (i). Dimensional ambiguity existing in the Chaboche type’s equation is extinguished. (ii) Dependence of yield stress on strain rate is made clear and installed into the model. Its validity is verified by simulating the torsional test data on the steel performed by C. Rossard and P. Blain at elevated temperature using the proposed model. Furthermore, the six viscoplastic material parameters contained in the model are identified by the simulation involving coefficient of viscosity.
